Carlos James Craft and daughter Edna E Craft
Carlos James Craft was born in March 1881 in Low Moor, Virginia. He married Lula M Thomas(Craft) on October 11, 1900, in District of Columbia. They had five children in 10 years.
He died as a young father on March 3, 1914, in Scarbro, West Virginia, at the age of 33 from pneumonia as a result an automobile accident.
As told by his granddaughter; on March 3, 1914 Carlos “froze to death” after a drunk driving accident when his car fell into a ravine. Edna Craft Frye was 12 years old at the time. – (Obituary states he died of pneumonia.)
Lula never remarried and raised the children with the help of her brother John Thomas.
