Anne Frye Maxey, age 94, of Frederick, died Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Silverado Memory Care. Born January 26,1930 in Mount Hope, WV she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Fred Frye and Edna Craft Frye and the wife of Donald Reese Maxey who died in 2015.
At age 18 she married Don and began teaching grades 1-6 in a one room WV schoolhouse. They later moved to Boyds, MD where she worked as a quality control specialist for Solarex in addition to supporting many environmental projects.
After retirement they lived in Mt. Airy, Frostburg and Frederick. Anne loved gardening, animals, reading, and storytelling. She loved to teach and shared her joy with family and friends.
Surviving are children: Carol Gazunis, Rebecca Lorenz, John Maxey, Martha Ehlman, 8 grandchildren: Chris, Celeste, Dawn, Ryan, Paul, Dana, Justin, Hannah and 4 great grandchildren: Jackson, Madison, Evelyn, and Elyse. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter Beth, a sister, and a brother
