Challenges for Two Maxey Businesses

An early morning fire destroyed Tenfold Fair Trade Collection and Data Direct's Harpers Ferry office, July 23, 2015. The three alarm fire caused over 2 million dollars in damage and four historic buidings have been declared a total loss.

Leaving the World a Better Place (January 27)

Donald Reese Maxey

May 7, 1930 - Januray 27, 2015
Mr. Donald Reese Maxey, 84, of Boyds, Mount Airy, and most recently Frederick Maryland, passed away on January 27, 2015.

Captain Maxey, a combat wounded Korean War veteran with three bronze stars, is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anne, 5 children; Carol Gazunis, Becky Maxey Lorenz, John Maxey, Beth Maxey, Martha Ehlman; and 8 grandchildren.

Mr. Maxey was a science teacher in Montgomery County for over 30 years. The impacts of his passionate environmental and community activism will be long standing in the area.
